Dr. Deepa Chitre, M.D.
Founder and CEO
Dr Chitre is the Founder of Bioved Pharmaceuticals, Inc. She is an MD from UC San Francisco and an M.B.,B.S. from Grant Medical College, Mumbai, India. Dr Chitre later was on the faculty at Stanford university for 10 years 6 months. A personal close experience inspired her to founding Bioved and develop the Discovery Platform for natural plant-based, scientifically validated, human and animal nutraceuticals, and phyto- pharmaceuticals. Dr Chitre has authored / coauthored several scientific publications and holds several US patents. She drives the expansion of Bioved Human and Animal Health globally.
Deben Dey, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Dey has multiple US, and Intl’ patents issued/applied, and over 60 publications in Drug Discovery and Research; and has received national and international Awards for ‘Scientific Excellence.” With a PhD in Biochemistry, he was on the Faculty at UC Davis. He was the Founder Scientist at Calyx Therapeutics and VP Research at Bexel Pharmaceuticals. Dr Dey has raised funding in Series A, B and C rounds; ran drug discovery research, and built scientific liaisons with pharma companies, academic institutions, and the NIH.
Sandeep Davankar, M.S., MBA
Corporate Affairs
Experienced Principal and Entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of building businesses supporting public and private sectors. Adopts an immersive / foundational approach to building businesses from within to succeed externally. Former Chairman – Board of Directors of Small Business Consortium in California, Presently, Board of Director, Awakening Wholeness, an organization focused on rehabilitating veterans and others working to reestablishing themselves in society. Strategic Program Development Support to Federal Contracts including Department of Defense and Homeland Security. Sandeep has an MS from Clemson University and an MBA from University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business.

David Merrick
President, Animal Health
Dave Merrick has 30+ years in animal health including veterinary practice, academics, distribution, new company launches, generic pharmaceutical and supplement manufacturing. He has a bachelor’s degree in Natural Science with minors in Chemistry and Biology. He co- founded Quincy Animal Health (Neutricks®), a product for cognitive dysfunction in pets.
Jas Mattu, DVM, MBA
Chief Medical Officer, Animal Health
Dr. Mattu is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of pets and people. He owned University Veterinary Hospital, was President of Veterinary Passions Associates, and was COO for Vets Beyond Medicine. He received his DVM from Iowa State Uni. and Punjab Ag Uni, followed by an MBA from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
Plants were around before humans and became an early choice for treatment of various conditions. Whole plants and parts of plants have been used in various parts of the world for similar treatments – from Shamans in the Amazon rain forests to Campo medicine in Japan, to Hanbang, the Traditional Korean medicine (TKM), to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), to Moroccan herbs, and Ayurveda in India. The plants and their uses and application as medicine are very similar. The methodology of dosage development and administration may be different. At the same time, more than 30% of prescription and OTC modern medical drugs were originally developed from plants and subsequently synthesized for commercial reasons. Some of the block buster drugs of all times came from plants, such as Aspirin, Atropine, Reserpine, Digoxin, Vincristine, Vinblastine, Taxol and so many more....
